  3.    Climate and clothing: Light clothing is worn all year. Most
  4. rainfall occurs from December through March.

  6.    Customs: Americans visiting Tonga must have a valid passport
  7. and an onward airline ticket but do not need visas for visits up
  8. to 30 days. Visas are required for longer visits and may be
  9. obtained in Tonga or at consulates of the United Kingdom.

  11.    Health: Tonga is free from most tropical diseases, including
  12. malaria. Nuku'alofa has a modern hospital, but doctors are often
  13. in short supply. Drinking water is safe in the capital and in
  14. tourist resorts.

  16.    Transportation: Four international airlines link Tonga with
  17. Fiji, New Zealand, and Western Samoa. A small national airline
  18. provides irregular service to airstrips on the three main island
  19. groups. Cars with drivers can be hired. Taxis are available in
  20. larger towns.
